Timeline of Accomplishments

2005

The Ryan Wells Foundation is incorporated. It hosts its first fundraiser; the Ryan Wells Foundation Golf Classic

2006

Our largest fundraiser, Evening with the Chefs, is born. 6 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $24,000.

2007

8 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $23,000. A donation of $90,000 is given to the Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy for the naming of Ryan's Teaching Kitchen.

2008

10 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $32,500.

2009

7 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $17,500. A combined total of $15,500 was awarded to schools.

2010

7 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $31,500. A combined total of $16,000 was awarded to schools.

2011

"Evening with the Chefs" wins Tampa Bay Magazine Best Culinary Event of the Year. 9 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $44,000. A combined total of $16,000 was awarded to schools.

2012

Win Tampa Bay Magazine Best Culinary Event of the Year again. 11 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $63,000. A combined total of $16,000 was awarded to schools.

2013

Win Tampa Bay Magazine Best Culinary Event of the Year again. Ryan's sister Ashley Giasone is announced as Executive Director. Ryan Wells Foundation is named 2013 Pinellas Education Foundation Business Partner of the Year in Secondary Schools, 2013 Ford Next Generation Learning Recognition Award, and a 2013 Tampa Bay Business Journal Nonprofit of the Year Finalist. 13 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $72,000. A combined total of $16,000 was awarded to schools.

2014

Win Tampa Bay Magazine Best Culinary Event of the Year again. Ryan Wells Foundation President Mike Wells is honored a Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation Community Hero. Cooking for a Cause program is launched. Ryan Wells Foundation sponsors the new Culinary Arts category in the county-wide Walker's Rising Stars Competition and awards 3 students a combined $3,000 in scholarship money. 11 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $90,000.

2015

Cooking for a Cause donates its 5,400th meal to HEP shelter. 12 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $91,000

2016

Cooking for a Cause donates another 2,200 meals to HEP to date bringing the new total to 7,600 meals. 11 students are awarded scholarships with a combined total of $108,000; the highest total yet! Another $26,000 is awarded to 6 of our local partner schools. We established the Tom Pritchard Memorial Scholarship and honored our first recipient, Nathan Lambert of Northeast High School.
